PARTICIPANT INSTRUCTION – ORLANDO 2016

 

INFORMATION GUIDE – ORLANDO, FL – AUGUST 20TH, 2016

 

Date and Time:

Saturday, August 20th Registration opens at 8:00 AM. Race starts at 9:00 AM.

Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake

 3401 S Hiawassee Road, Orlando FL 32835

 

When to Arrive:

We recommend that you arrive at least one hour before your wave time. Remember that you will have to park, pick up your packet, attach your bib and timing chip, and then make your way to the starting line.

 

Parking:

Bill Frederick Park requires a $4 per car daily entry fee. For vehicles with only a driver and no passengers, the fee is $2.

 

Start Times:

All participants will be running at 9:00 AM. Only participants registered on or before August 20th will be on the list below:

 

 

Race Day Registration:

Race day registrations will be available for $60.

 

What You Need to Bring
• Photo ID

• Know your bib number and wave time – DOWNLOAD BIB NUMBER

• Your participant waiver – initialed, signed and ready to go — WAIVER DOWNLOAD

• Spending money for the sizzling merchandise

• A large appetite for BACON!

 

What to Leave at Home:

Do not bring any of the following items:

• Outside alcoholic beverages

• Coolers

• Glass containers

• Weapons

 

Award Ceremony:

The awards ceremony will take place between 10:00 and 10:30 AM at the main stage. Please note that to receive an award, you must be present during the awards ceremony. Awards will not be mailed post-race.

 

Your Free T-shirt Ticket - Don’t Lose It!

We want you to receive your hard earned t-shirt. Each participant will have a t-shirt ticket attached to their bib. If you lose it, you will not be able to redeem your free t-shirt. T-shirts can be redeemed near the finish line before or after the race.

 

Cancellations and Participant Transfers

Participants are not able to cancel, transfer, or update their registration within 10 days of the event. Participant transfers can be made on race day for $15. We will need to call or have face to face contact with the person who is transferring their registration. Have them on the phone before you enter the information line to save time.

 

Weather

We do not intend to cancel or delay The Great American Bacon Race due to weather. We will let you know if anything changes. Unpredictable weather conditions mean that unexpected race day changes are possible for our event. Please roll with the punches. Generally speaking, we won’t cancel the event for a rainy, wet day. However, lightning, tornadoes, strong winds, and flooding may provide cause for delays or cancellation. Pay attention to you inbox or to the Bacon Race Facebook page for further updates.
